MCI's Strategic Visit to China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing

On March 18, 2025, a strategic visit and collaborative discussion were held between the Malaysia-China Institute (MCI) and China Agricultural University (CAU) at the main campus of CAU in Beijing, China. The visit was coordinated by BELIA MAHIR along with TANG International Education Group China, with full cooperation from RISDA and University College Agroscience Malaysia (UCAM).
The Malaysian delegation was led by YB Manndzri Hj Nasin, Chairman of RISDA and concurrently Chairman of the Malaysia-China Institute (MCI). The main objective of this visit was to explore opportunities for collaboration in various segments related to modern agriculture and the halal industry, areas of mutual interest for Malaysia and China.
China Agricultural University (CAU) is a renowned university in China specializing in higher education and research in agriculture, biotechnology, and life sciences. The university is known for its achievements in agricultural innovation, smart technology, and sustainable management of agricultural resources, playing a significant role in advancing China's modern agricultural sector.
The planned cooperation with CAU encompasses the Transfer of Knowledge and Transfer of Technology, particularly in the following segments:
Biogas – Introducing the latest technologies in efficient and sustainable biogas production as an alternative energy source.
Smart Farming – Adopting smart agricultural systems utilizing IoT technology, automation, and big data analytics to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency.
Agricultural Machinery – Introducing modern agricultural machinery technologies to enhance farm mechanization in Malaysia, aligning specifically with the focus of RISDA and UCAM.
Halal Industry – Establishing strategic cooperation in the development of halal standards, product innovation, and technology within the halal food industry, further strengthening Malaysia's position as a global halal hub.
This strategic visit and cooperation are expected to usher in a new era in accelerating Malaysia's modern agricultural sector growth, supporting the nation's sustainable development agenda, and creating quality employment opportunities for youth.
